Sushant 'Ominous' Jha, the Valorant analyst for BLEED Esports has recently stated on his Twitter that Skyesports, one of the popular tournament organizers in India has still not paid them their prize of $15,000 USD from the Skyesports SEA Championship in November 2022.

After the statement went live on Twitter, owners of different esports organizations have backed the owner of Skyesports, Shiva Nandy, over the issues of delayed international transactions. Every major tournament organiser in India is in agreement that the process for international money transfer is a lot more tedious than it should be.

Skyesports Answers BLEED Esports On Payment Delays

After Ominous pointed out the delay by Skyesports, Rushindra Sinha, owner of Global Esports tagged Shiva Nandy, stating that he would be able to clarify why the unexpected delays had taken place. Shiva Nandy commented on the following situation:

We are facing challenges in transferring international prize money for esports ( As esports prize pool) as there are many processes we need to follow. Rest assured, we have already discussed the issue with the accounts team, and payments will be made by the end of this month.
@_SushantJha @RushindraSinha @OGYashB @aryamanwasan @KRROHITH2 @RohitJagasia1 are handling international teams and players, I think they aware about international payment transfer issues & RBI Guidelines.

To back him up, the owners of different esports organizations like Yash Bhanushali from Orangutan, Manoj Kashyap from Velocity Gaming, Rohit Jagasia from Revenant Esports, and Aryaman Wasan from Enigma Gaming also commented on the issue, stating that international transactions for their signed international players have also caused multiple delays as it is very difficult to get the money in the country but not outside of it. Rushindra Sinha, who maintains an International League Valorant team had this to say about the situation:

Even getting incoming isn’t easy - so many of our payments have been giving us issues - it’s been nothing but painful having transactions across borders especially India - South Korea - USA. As an Indian company I feel bad when people from outside suggest to just incorporate outside India and do all transactions from there just because it would be easier, I'm more than happy to pay all taxes and payments in India if there was just a process that made it easier here.

Skyesports' CMO, Gnana Shekhar has also assured everyone that the delay is being taken care of and the payment clearance can be expected by the end of this month.
