Ubisoft Releases New Star Wars Outlaws Story Trailer; Launch Date Announced

After three years of revealing the development of Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft has finally announced the launch date of the game alongside an official story trailer. Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft in association with Lucasfilm Games, will be released on 30 August 2024. Outlaws will be the first-ever open-world game in the Star Wars franchise. 

The official story trailer revealed more information about the narrative of the game. Star Wars Outlaws will feature “one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen”, as the protagonist Kay Vess will take on Sliro, who runs one of the most elite criminal syndicates, Zerek Bash.

Star Wars Outlaws Will Be A “Golden Age For The Underworld”

Star Wars Outlaws is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, where the Empire is at its peak strength. The new trailer features several characters present in the game, including Sliro, who runs the most lethal and elite criminal syndicate, Zerek Bash. Sliro also explains that “The Empire controls every corner of the galaxy, but they are distracted by a Rebellion that won’t quit.” Sliro wants to use the Empire’s distraction to make millions alongside other criminal syndicates.

While the Outer Rim comprises several criminal syndicates like Pikes, Crimson Dawn, and the Hutts, one needs to fear when they come across Zerek Bash and never think of crossing them. Since Kay Vess, a renowned scoundrel, has already crossed Sliro, he is looking for her and hires one of the best hunters in the Outer Rim.

In the story trailer, Kay meets Jaylen, who informs her that Sliro wants her gone and one way to buy her freedom is to rob him. Kay has to travel across the Outer Rim to acquire new skills and find a troop to pull off the greatest heist the galaxy has ever seen. Kay has to make sure that she builds her reputation, as her actions and reputation will have consequences. 

Star Wars Outlaw will be available across PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 30 August 2024. Players can pre-order the game’s premium edition or purchase Ubisoft+ Premium to get early access on 27 August 2024.
