The Crew Motorfest Has Gone Gold Ahead Of Its September Release

The Crew Motorfest, developed by Ubisoft's Lyon-based development studio (which birthed the Crew franchise), has gone gold. The open-world racer which is set to release on September 14 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC has completed its development. Ubisoft took to social media to announce that the development for the launch version has concluded."The Crew Motorfest is certified gold," announced Ubisoft via Twitter. "We're extremely proud and excited to announce our second gold master this week! Congratulations to all of our teams working on the game, we can't wait to see you all at the finish line this September 14!"

The games's closed beta -- which lined up roughly 567 vehicles including cars, motorcycles, monster trucks, planes and boats -- received positive feedback. Motorfest is set on the island of O’ahu, Hawaii. In the game, players take part in the titular festival, which turns the island of O’ahu into a virtual racing playground. This premise is similar to the Forza Horizon series developed by Playground Games, which revolves around a fictional racing and music festival called the Horizon Festival. The game mechanics in Motorfest too are said to be quite similar to Forza.

The Crew Motorfest Offers A Roster Of More Than 600 Vehicles

Players can use different game modes accessed through other Playlists, a series of short thematic campaigns offering unique car culture experiences with tailored races and events. Motorfest will also include an out-of-car area where players can explore customisation competitions. The Weekly Main Stage also aims to produce thematic experiences each week, like the European Velocita Main Stage which highlights European cars.

Since the open-world title is primarily set in Hawaii, Ivory Tower has talked about the recent wildfire tragedy occurring on the island of Maui. "We are saddened by the tragic news of the wildfires in Maui and our hearts go out to those impacted by the fires," the Motorfest page shared on Twitter alongside a donation link.
