Rockstar Games finally confirmed what the internet had pretty much taken as fact these past few weeks - Red Dead Redemption is finally out of its PS3 shackles and will be available soon on the Nintendo Switch and the PlayStation 4. Curiously, the game will not have a PS5 version - meaning, most likely, it will not have shiny, new features such as 60 frames per second performance, new animations, and such. Regardless, this is a massively good move on Rockstar's part as fans have been clamouring to play the game again on new consoles.

The game will still be available on the PS5 through backwards compatibility but seeing as it is the PS4 version of the game, don't expect the game to be dramatically different from your experience with it in 2010. Red Dead Redemption will cost players  $49.99 on the Nintendo Switch eShop and PlayStation Store on August 17, with a physical release coming on October 13.

Red Dead Redemption has often been mentioned amongst the greats when it comes to single-player action-adventure games and its sequel has only gone on to further cement's Rockstar pedigree when it comes to storytelling and innovative gameplay. The PS4/Nintendo Switch version of the game has been developed by Double 11 Studios, who have previously worked on games such as Rust (Console Edition), LIMBO, and Minecraft Dungeons.

Rockstar Games seems to be firing on all cylinders at the moment with their upcoming project, Grand Theft Auto VI, but there has been virtually little to no communication from Rockstar with regard to how far along in development the game has come. It remains to be seen what Rockstar are going to be up to for the next few years, but in the meantime, Red Dead Redemption on modern consoles is a genuine treat. Curiously, the publisher isn't bringing the game over to PC, which hasn't really gone down well with the PC gaming community. 

Activision Blizzard has confirmed that Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Open Beta was the biggest in the franchise's history through an official X post. The Black Ops 6 Open Beta ended with a massive positive response from gamers, as it showcased various new additions coming to the franchise, including the new movement and human shield features, which were used by players during the beta session.

According to the X post by Activision Blizzard, the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Open Beta was on top in terms of total players compared to all the past Beta Sessions, alongside maintaining the same ranking in total hours played, playtime per player, and most matches played.

Sony officially revealed the PlayStation 5 Pro at their Technical Presentation today.
