PlayStation and Discord have made the biggest announcement yet. PlayStation 5 players will now be able to chat with their friends on Discord without any additional step. When it was initially introduced, players had to transfer the calls to Discord manually, which created a lot of hassle. But now, with this update getting rolled out soon, players will be able to do it without the additional hardwork.
This update will add the Discord dashboard directly to your PS5 and you will be able yo communicate with your friends via chat or calls.

Sony Integrating Discord on PS5
In a social media post, PlayStation announced this news and gave details about the upcoming update. The update will start rolling out in the coming weeks, and will first begin from Japan and Asia. This will then be followed by Europe Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and then US and Canada.
You’ll soon be able to join Discord voice chats directly from your PS5 console. The update is gradually rolling out over the coming weeks, starting in Japan/Asia
If players want to use this integration, they will have to update their PS5 to the latest version, and only then will they be able to use this feature. Additionally, your Discord account should also be linked to your PlayStation Network.
If players are confused about the steps required to use this feature, Sabrina Meditz, senior director, product management, PlayStation explains:
To start, select the Discord tab in Game Base within the PS5 Control Center and choose the Discord server or DM group you’d like to join. Then, select your preferred voice channel. This will reveal more details, such as who is already in the channel chatting. You’ll also receive a PS5 console notification when another Discord user calls you, allowing you to join right away.
This has been one of the most requested features on the platform and with this update, Sony is aiming to make the gaming experience of players nicer.
