The Taiwanese company MSI plans to enter the market by launching a Steam Deck competitor at CES 2024 in Las Vegas next week.
Valve started the way of handhelds in the gaming industry by introducing the Steam Deck in February 2022. After a positive response from the crowd, other companies entered the market by creating Steam Deck competitors like Asus ROG Ally and Legion Go. MSI seems to follow the same route as the Taiwanese company, hinting at the launch of the new device on their social media by saying, "A whole new breed of MSI dragon is coming."
MSI Claw, A Potential Steam Deck Competitor By MSI, To Be Announced At Consumer Electronics Show 2024
On their social media post, MSI teased the arrival of a new device, potentially the gaming handheld MSI Claw, at the CES 2024. The post comprised a video, starting with two RGB circular highlights that look like the potential joysticks of the MSI Claw with the "True Gaming" tagline carved on the top. Since MSI mentioned RGB in their caption, the company might be focusing on the aesthetics of its handheld as well.
The post's caption showed another hint suggesting the coming of a gaming handheld from MSI. The caption talks about the arrival of a new MSI product and says, "Get a grip" at the end. After the teaser post, the leaked images of the upcoming MSI Claw and its specifications are already surfacing online. Per the leaked Chinese poster, MSI will give away the MSI Claw gaming console by purchasing the MSI Titan lineup. Whether the giveaway will run internationally or be restricted to Taiwan is still being determined. MSI plans to announce the MSI Claw in Las Vegas during the CES 2024, from 09 January 2024 to 12 January 2024.
