The first State of Play for the year has officially given fans a sneak peek at the upcoming Metro game. However, the title is coming exclusively for VR. Metro Awakening is teased in the Sony event and is coming to PS VR2. It has been almost seven years since Deep Silver released the last Metro game. Concluding the story of Artyom, Metro Exodus was one of the most beloved entries in the franchise which perfectly blended survival and action.
With Metro Awakening, developers have stated that the game will tell an origins story, set before the events of the first game, Metro 2033. The title will offer a new angle for fans and an immersive experience for seasoned VR gamers.

What to Expect From Metro Awakening VR
According to the official PlayStation blog, Metro Awakening is set in 2028. The title allows one to play as Serdar, a doctor who is searching for his wife in the intoxicated metro tunnels of post-apocalyptic Moscow. Gamers will venture deeper into the tunnels as they uncover many anomalies and supernatural forces. Developers have promised Metro Awakening to be an intense first-person shooter which will deliver gameplay incorporating classic survival aspects from the Metro games, alongside stealth, and combat. The blog also claims that Awakening will have a strong focus on narrative, letting gamers feel the world through different eyes.
The Metro franchise has come a long way from its first game, blending survival and stealth to deliver a heart-pounding experience. With Metro Awakening, PS VR2 gamers can experience the same in a more immersive package. Gamers will be able to enjoy the adaptive triggers and headset haptics on the PS VR2 in Metro Awakening. Alongside that, developers have also added tactile sensations to improve triggers and bullet impacts. A new Metro title is coming to PS VR2 for the first time.
