The Last of Us Part II Remastered is nearing its launch this month for all PlayStation 5 users, with improved visuals and many technical advancements. The Remastered edition of the famous title is coming with many key improvements for the current-gen console. With that, it will also see a minor bump in price. However, gamers who already own a copy of The Last of Us Part II for the PlayStation 4 can have a digital upgrade to the Remastered version.
The upgrade will only offer a code to gamers which they can use to redeem the Remastered edition on their PS5. With many new features included in the upcoming edition, Naughty Dog has promised a definitive experience with the game.

Upgrading to The Last of Us Part II Remastered Edition on PS5 from the Original PS4 Version
According to the official PlayStation blog for The Last of Us, gamers who already purchased The Last of Us Part II on their PlayStation 4 will have the option to pay an 'additional fee' of £10 to upgrade to The Last of Us Part II Remastered. The upgrade fee will depend on the local upgrade pricing and will be available on the PlayStation Store starting January 19, 2024.
The Remastered edition of the game is strictly for the PlayStation 5 console. Naughty Dog also stated that the disc copies of the PS4 version of the game are only available if the PS5 owner has a disc drive on the console. Owners of the PS4 disc copies will have to insert them into PS5 each time they want to download or play the digital version of the game.
