How to Uninstall Valorant: Step-by-Step Guide

How To Uninstall Valorant Properly



Most of the time, when a player is trying to uninstall Valorant, they directly try to remove the game without exiting the Riot Vanguard, leading to several errors. Here is a step-by-step guide to smoothly uninstall Valorant without facing any issues:


Exit Riot Vanguard

 Disable Riot Vanguard


  • Before removing Valorant from the system, ensure that the player is exiting Riot Vanguard and disable it. To disable Vanguard, head to the Windows Taskbar and open the Windows system tray.
  • Now, right-click on the Vanguard icon. Click on the Exit Vanguard option, which will open a warning dialog box. Click on Yes, after which Riot Vanguard will be disabled on the system.

  • After disabling Vanguard, head to the Control Panel from the Start Menu. Look for the Programs tab, where one can find the Uninstall a program section.
  • Look for Riot Vanguard and double-click the option to remove Vanguard from the system.

  • Once Riot Vanguard is uninstalled, head to Uninstall a program section again and look for Valorant.
  • Double-click on Valorant to uninstall the game and follow the steps mentioned on the screen to complete the process.
  • Once the uninstallation is complete, restart the system to remove Valorant from the system altogether.


Once Valorant is uninstalled, players can either reinstall the game to fix any prior bugs or take a break from the game. Players can reinstall the game by heading to Valorant's official website and downloading the setup file. Use the setup file to install the game and continue the rank-grind.
