Mortal Kombat 1 has quickly risen in popularity after its release last year September. While fans have initially complained about the lack of content in the game, NetherRealm Studios has already begun to add more content to the game. The studio has recently teased Homelander's arrival with the upcoming update, as they revealed a new teaser for the hero.
Much like the older Mortal Kombat titles, MK1 will also feature various characters from other universes. Aside from Homelander, the game already has fighters like Omni Man from the Invincible show and comic book, and Peacemaker from DC comics. With Homelander joining the roster, gamers are even more excited.
NetherRealm Studios Teases Homlander for Mortal Kombat 1
The first look teaser for Homelander showcases his various abilities that gamers can use in a fight. In the teaser, Homelander is seen enjoying a bottle of milk, a homage to his iconic habit from The Boys TV show from Amazon Prime. One can also see all his laser moves from the comic books and TV Shows, as Homelander uses it to fight Liu Kang in the teaser.
The teaser also hints at a few of Homelander's potential fatality moves, which can outright destroy his opponents. One of the special moves animations features the superhero punching his enemy up to the sky as they clash with a commercial airplane. This is also a close reference to The Boys TV show, where Homelander encounters such commercial transports multiple times.
Homelander was first revealed to Mortal Kombat 1 fans on July 22, 2023, with the official Kombat Pack roster reveal trailer. NetherRealm Studios confirmed his arrival in the trailer, alongside other fighters, including Quan Chi, Peacemaker, Omni Man, and more.
Since then, Homelander has easily become one of the most anticipated fighters in Mortal Kombat 1. Not only the character is popular for his notorious behavior in The Boys TV show, but many fans believe he is the perfect pick for the Mortal Kombat universe because of his wide range of superpowers.
Fans are also excited to see how he holds on his own against all the legendary fighters from the Mortal Kombat roster. While few of his abilities easily give him the edge over a few, many in the roster can go toe-to-toe with Homelander. His addition to the game is an interesting choice.
