  • Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reports that GTA 6 trailer will drop in December.

  • The trailer may coincide with Rockstar's 25th Anniversary.

  • GTA 6 is easily the most highly-anticipated game of all-time.

After several months of unconfirmed rumours and speculation, it looks like we will finally have something in the way of GTA 6 by Rockstar Games. Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reports that an announcement for the highly anticipated GTA 6 might be set for release as soon as this week. As per Schreier's sources, Rockstar plans to release the trailer for the game as part of Rockstar's 25th Anniversary celebrations in December.

While this is not an outright confirmation from Take-Two or Rockstar themselves, it does appear likely that the publisher will release a trailer before the end of 2023. Rockstar has maintained silence on the GTA 6 front so far, with little information about the title available save for the announcement that it is in active development. The game has rightly been heralded as perhaps the most highly-anticipated game of all time, and given the success its predecessor continues to see today, it is no surprise.

Can GTA 6 Live Up to the Unreal Hype?

Rockstar Games is no stranger to pressure as they continue to be one of the most successful publishers/developers around with a streak of hits dating back to the early 2000s. The studio has continued to innovate and impress, upping the ante with each release. The studio's last title, Red Dead Redemption II is widely considered one of the finest video games of this generation and showcased a level of technical mastery, writing, and design that surpassed anything else the studio had worked on before, or in the industry at large.

GTA 6 is widely regarded as the most highly-anticipated entertainment product, and clearly, the pressure is on for Rockstar to deliver in spades yet again. The studio suffered a massive setback last year as over 40 minutes of gameplay from an earlier build was leaked online. Rockstar has still maintained the air of silence around the project, but it looks like we'll finally have a trailer by the end of this week.

Since the launch of Red Dead Redemption II in 2018, Rockstar Games has undergone a rather transformational period. The studio has had a major culture shift in terms of how crunch is dealt with during development. According to reports, the studio has done away with crunch entirely, which is pretty good news. Since then, the studio has also seen a change in the leadership up top with major departures including co-founder and head writer Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies, who produced the majority of the Grand Theft Auto titles as well as Red Dead Redemption. It would appear this is a new era for Rockstar Games, which is exciting news for fans, as we can't wait to see just what Rockstar has in store this time around with GTA 6.
