GTA 6 Trailer Song Tom Petty's "Love Is A Long Road" Sees 36,979% Increase in Plays

Rockstar Games has a storied history with music in GTA games, collaborating with artists across the spectrums, including Tom Petty, whose music featured quite famously in GTA San Andreas. Most recently, his track "Love is a Long Road", was featured in the trailer for GTA 6 and it looks like its inclusion has led to a massive spike in the song's streams across platforms.

Fans Cannot Wait to Hear More of the GTA 6 Soundtrack 

According to Spotify, the song has had an increase of 36,979% which is quite a huge amount. If we take a look at the 1989 album Full Moon Fever, the song is the 6th most streamed song in the album with 12 million plays. The song which has the highest number of plays is called Free Fallin’ which has 639 million plays on Spotify. It won't be a wrong prediction that if Love is A Long Road Is present on the radio channels then this song could be the most streamed song from this album.

One of the GTA franchise's most iconic elements has always been its soundtrack, in the form of the in-game Radio. In the past, the series has seen an eclectic range of music. Over the years, the franchise has dabbled with curating soundtracks for period settings such as the 80s and the early 90s. With GTA 6 seemingly set in present times, we can expect to see contemporary artists. Quite famously, artist JPEGMAFIA has been campaigning for his music to be included in the upcoming game. There might just be a chance that Rockstar obliges and has the artist's music featured in the game. 

Rockstar will likely reveal more about the game's soundtrack in the months leading up to the release. The publisher recently collaborated with hip-hop mogul and music industry legends Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine for a brief appearance in GTA Online. It is quite likely that Dr Dre could curate a radio station in the upcoming game. The franchise has always been known to include a wide range of music across a whole range of genres.
