Ghost of Tsushima PC Port Multiplayer Mode - Another Helldivers 2 Situation on the Cards?

Sucker Punch Production has already clarified this through a tweet that the PSN account linking is strictly required for the Legends online multiplayer mode and using the PlayStation overlay only. This tweet was a response to a fan who claimed to cancel their pre-order due to the PSN criteria. Sucker Punch later confirmed that gamers can easily enjoy the Ghost of Tsushima PC port in a single-player mode without creating a PSN account. Ghost of Tsushima is highly praised for its single-player story mode, which explores the 1274 Kamakura period and lets gamers assume the role of Jin Sakai, a sole member of the Clan Sakai who is a Samurai warrior repelling a Mongol invasion.

To enjoy the story mode, gamers can simply purchase the game on Steam or Epic Games Store and play it. PC gamers' concern regarding the PSN issue has risen significantly since the Helldivers 2 situation a few weeks back. With the PlayStation Network not accessible in over 100 countries, most gamers will not be able to enjoy PlayStation titles despite buying them if account linking becomes mandatory.

Not only did it make fans extremely unhappy, but the title also saw a lot of negative reviews following the announcement. Considering the past situation, Sony may not repeat a similar incident.  That said, gamers who pre-ordered Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut can enjoy the title without worrying about PSN linking.
