Genshin Impact 4.0 update: Underwater Exploration, New Characters, and More

Genshin Impact 4.0 update has officially unveiled Fontaine as a playable area. With this, the players will get to explore the underwater area and enjoy the other additions to the game. New mechanics, which will be exclusive to the Nation of Justice were introduced in the live stream. Here is everything that players will get to see in the new update.

Genshin Impact 4.0 Update: Everything New Introduced With Fontaine

Since half of Fontaine's map is going to be underwater, players will have to work their way around the region in the same way. In the live stream, large water bodies were very prominent and players can expect the gameplay to revolve around that. Here are the most important things we will find in the Fontaine region.

Underwater Exploration

Since players will be allowed to swim freely in the water, they will also be able to benefit from the water. They will get various types of abilities from Fontemer Aberrants, which will be very useful inside the water. Players will be able to explore the area and get a feel of the water and the elements added to it. The Nation of Justice, which is inside the water, is made to be bright and colourful so that players can enjoy the game inside the water, as well. The angle at which the players will be able to see themselves in the water is also a bit wider, ensuring that people get a better swimming experience while they're inside this fifth major Teyvat region.

New Characters

The Fontaine update will also come with an array of 4-star and 5-star characters. The live stream confirmed the addition of the following characters in the game:

• Lyney (5-star)
• Lynette (4-star)
• Freminet (4-star)

Lyney will have the first banner along with Yelan. Both of these will also have the following characters as a part of their wish events.

• Barbara
• Lynette
• Bennett

In the second phase of the update, Freminet will be added to the game. In addition to this, players will also get to interact with the Fontaine Statue of the Seven.

New Weapons

With the update, players will be able to get their hands on 12 new weapons. Players will get to see one 5-star, one 4-star Pipe, five forgeable and five from the new Battle Pass. Here is a list of all the upcoming weapons in the game:

3. Wolf Fang (4-star Sword)

7. Scion of the Blazing Sun (4-star Bow)
8. Finale of the Deep (4-star Claymore)
9. Tidal Shadow (4-star Claymore)
10. Rightful Reward (4-star Polearm)
11. Flowing Purity (4-star Claymore)
12. Song of Stillness (4-star Bow)

Not just that, players will also get an opportunity to get their hands on Lynette for free. Players can get her through the help of the The Curtain Never Falls on Magic event. Players will have to be at least Adventure Rank 25 to become eligible to get it. Finish all the quests and complete the daily missions to be able to get Lynette.
