Florida Joker Demands $2 million from Rockstar Games For Using His Likness

The highly anticipated reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 has sparked not just excitement, but also a high chance for a legal controversy. This comes from the Florida Joker. Within the trailer of GTA 6, we got to see multiple references to incidents that took place in Florida. During these references, there was one about a particularly well-tattooed man incarcerated live on what looks like social media. This character has quite a lot of face tattoos. It is believed by many to be a reference to the Florida Joker. Within this article, we will be looking at why is the Florida Joker looking to sue Rockstar Games.

GTA 6: Can Floride Joker Win against Rockstar Games In This Lawsuit?

awrence Sullivan, also known online as the “Florida Joker,” a content creator from Florida, has stated that he might be filing a $2 million lawsuit against Rockstar Games. This comes after a viral video of him on Twitter talking about Rockstar Games using his likeness for a character in GTA 6. He stated that the character in the trailer who is a prisoner in jail and has a mugshot is a clear reference to him. He finishes the video saying “ GTA we gotta talk”. Following that video, many accounts on Twitter started trolling the Florida Joker.  As such he posted another video on the 9th of December stating the following:

“Everyone saying that I am hallucinating, that I’m not the Joker from GTA 6. Goddam nuggets, that's me, that's the person they got the inspiration from. GTA we gotta talk. If not you gotta give me a mil or 2 ( $1 or 2 million). “

Previously we have seen multiple cases as such being filed against gaming companies concerning taking the likeness of another person. So is there a chance that the Florida Joker can win against Rockstar Games if he does file a lawsuit? According to a lawyer who previously won a case concerning a similar complaint. He states that his chance of winning is low because none of the tattoos are the same, and neither is the hair. The character in the trailer looks like any other guy with face tattoos. As such if the Florida Joker does go on to file a case there is a very low chance of him winning due to it not being clear enough and that referencing someone isn't enough to be unlawful according to the current laws.
