Microsoft may consider bringing select titles from their platform to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, according to various sources online. An unnamed source has told The Verge that Bethesda, the makers behind the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Starfield, might bring their games to the PlayStation 5. This multi-platform approach is reportedly taken for specific Xbox games and is planned for Microsoft.

According to the reports, the Xbox maker is still deciding which titles should remain exclusive to their platform and which will go to the other side. Newer titles like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are seemingly jumping to other platforms like the PlayStation 5.

Xbox Titles are Reportedly Coming to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, Ending the Microsoft Exclusivity

Last year, many rumors surfaced on the web telling viewers that Microsoft may soon release their first-party titles like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves to their rival platforms. Fast forward to early 2024, outlets such as Xboxera have also confirmed that the list includes titles like Bethesda's recent Starfield.

Titles like the Hi-Fi Rush were determined to have confirmed their arrival on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. However, Bethesda's Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle share a different story. Currently, there are no records, aside from statements, showing that they might arrive on the rival platforms.

More on The Verge's report states that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle may not arrive on the other platforms right after its launch in December 2024. Instead, the title will arrive on the PlayStation 5 months later, granting Xbox and PC a set period of exclusivity.

For Starfield, the date of arrival is yet to be known. Bethesda's space epic was released last year to a hyped audience. With a fairly positive response from gamers, PlayStation 5 gamers may enjoy it.

Why is Xbox Making the Decision of Ending Exclusivity?

Microsoft's head of gaming, Phil Spencer, officially commented on the game exclusivity and stated that they will decide on the games on a "case-by-case basis."

Although according to the FTC Lawsuit's conversation last year suggested that all Bethesda games would be exclusive to Xbox, recent reports are suggesting otherwise. Alongside Rare's Sea of Thieves and Tango's Hi-Fi Rush, Bethesda's upcoming Indiana Jones title and last year's Starfield have high chances of making a release on the PlayStation 5.

Gamers are still arguing if any Bethesda title will make it to the Switch; however, many more Xbox and PC exclusives fit the list for the Nintendo platform.

Many corporate individuals are also stating that this strategy can be extremely beneficial to Microsoft and their Xbox Game Pass service, as the titles can be accessed from the majority of the gaming platforms.

All the rumors so far have provided very limited information in this regard. Gamers will have to wait to know more about the Xbox matter.
