Since the time Revenant has been around in Apex Legends, players have had difficulty figuring out exactly how the character will come into play in Ranked matches. Revenant has been on the cusp between a B-tier and an A-tier Legend for the longest time. Respawn seems to have recognized the character's glass ceiling and provided him with a complete re-tooling of his kit.
Season 18 of Apex Legends will see Revenant with a whole new set of abilities, including a pretty nifty Passive ability that allows players to highlight nearby enemies low on health. Revenant will also be unlocked for all players all season long, giving the entire player base a chance at re-learning the character all over again or being introduced to them for the first time ever.

All Major Changes Coming to Apex Legends in Season 18: Resurrection
Revenant New Abilities
PASSIVE: Assassin's Instinct
- Highlight nearby visible enemies who are low on health. You crouch walk faster and have improved wall climbing.
TACTICAL: Shadow Pounce
- Unleash a powerful pounce forwards. Hold to charge for farther distances.
ULTIMATE: Forged Shadows
- Forge a shroud of hardened shadows around you that blocks direct damage and regenerates after breaking. Your shadows and tactical are refreshed on knockdowns.
Charge Rifle Changes
One of the most notoriously confusing sniper rifles in Apex Legends, the Charge Rifle will no longer fire a sustained beam. The weapon can now be charged up, allowing players to hit shots longer down the range. The more charge a shot has, the further it will travel. The projectile can pierce through multiple enemies, which means, a well-placed Charge Rifle can deal damage to a whole group of players should they bunched up.
New Control Map: Production Yard
Production Yard provides players with a much more claustrophobic and chaotic experience, bringing a whole new dimension to the Control game mode. Production Yard features a whole bunch of Zip Rails, allowing players to counter and switch sides at the drop of a hat. It will be interesting to see if players take to the new map and adds a little bit more color to Control.
Ranked Update
- Overly Generous Ladder Points (LP): Arsenal's LP tuning will be refined and will be tightened as a result. This is to ensure that the abundance of LP does not cause issues with the rest of the Ranked system.
- Bug Fixes
- Future Changes: Season 18 will focus on refining Ranked tuning and stability. Respawn is going to be taking a fine-toothed comb to the Ranked System as a whole to provide a much more competitive and tighter Ranked System in Apex Legends.
- The Epic Banner Frame lets players flex their hard-earned status at the start of a match and more importantly, every time they take down other players.
- Badges, Holosprays and Weapon Cosmetics will continue to be rewarded in Ranked as in previous seasons.
