With the end of the VCT 2024: Masters Madrid and the arrival of Valorant Patch 8.05, the game has got its sixth Controller, Clove. Clove is the new agent from Scotland, whose abilities revolve around the concept of "a beautiful death." Just like Phoenix, Clove has the ultimate ability to resurrect herself even after dying. To celebrate her release, Valorant decided to host a showmatch on the final day of the VCT 2024: Masters Madrid between Kyedae's Team International and Mixwell's Team Spain.
Riot is pushing patch 8.05 to all the regions, and fans can get their hands on the latest character either by gaining 200,000 XP during the recruitment event or spending 1,000 VP to recruit her instantly. Once the recruitment event ends, players can unlock her by using 8,000 KC.

Valorant's Agent Number 24: Clove - A Scottish Troublemaker
Clove is the latest controller added to the game and is said to be a "Scottish Troublemaker." According to Valorant's agent listing, Clove's description reads:
Scottish troublemaker Clove makes mischief for enemies in both the heat of combat and the cold of death. The young immortal keeps foes guessing, even from beyond the grave, that their return to the living is only ever a moment away.
Clove's abilities revolved around the concept of defying the ultimate limit - death. Here are brief descriptions of all of Clove's abilities.
- Ruse (E): EQUIP to view the battlefield. FIRE to set the locations where Clove's clouds will settle. ALT FIRE to confirm, launching clouds that block vision in the chosen areas. Clove can use this ability after death.
- Meddle (Q): EQUIP a fragment of immortality essence. FIRE to throw the fragment, which erupts after a short delay and temporarily decays all targets caught inside.
- Pick-me-up (C): INSTANTLY absorb the life force of a fallen enemy that Clove damaged or killed, gaining haste and temporary health.
- Not Dead Yet (X): After dying, ACTIVATE to resurrect. Once resurrected, Clove must earn a kill or a damaging assist within a set time, or they will die.
Clove can be considered a powerful controller as she holds the ability Ruse (E), where she can smoke her enemies even after dying. Much like Reyna, she can also regain her health temporarily. Her ultimate, Not Dead Yet (X), will allow her to resurrect back to life, but she must kill her enemy or assist in a kill, or else she will die. While explaining Clove's ultimate ability, game designer Dan "penguin" Hardison said:
Sometimes it’s correct to ultimate even if you don’t think you’ll be able to get a kill and stay within the round if it’s an important enough round for the state of the game or economy that your team wins.
