DRX Qualifies For The VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff Playoffs While DetonatioN FocusMe Gets Eliminated From The Kickoff Event

For the first game of the day, Team Secret and DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) met in the first knockout game of Group B. The best-of-three started on the map of Lotus, with Team Secret shifting into aggressive gears from the start. Team Secret won back-to-back eight rounds to assert an 8-0 domination over DFM. While DFM tried to bounce back, they couldn't get more than three rounds, resulting in a 9-3 half. In the second half, DFM attempted to make a comeback, but the hefty trail resulted in Team Secret finishing the map in their favour with a 13-7 scoreline.

The second map of Breeze was closer than the first one as DFM tried to push Team Secret on the back foot from the start of the game. Despite the resistance from DFM, Team Secret managed to secure a 7-5 lead in the first half and continued to build upon it. In the second half, DFM was looking forward to pushing the game into overtime, but the lead from the first half helped Team Secret win the map of Breeze with the barest margin, resulting in DFM's elimination from the event.

In the second game of the day, DRX took on Talon Esports, starting with the map of Split. DRX asserted domination over Talon Esports from the start, helping them secure an 8-4 lead in the first half. Talon Esports equalized the scoreline in the second half, but DRX picked back their momentum to win the map with a 13-10 scoreline.

On the map of Ascent, Talon Esports resisted DRX from getting an early lead, resulting in an equalizer at the end of the first half. While Talon Esports took the first two rounds of the second half, DRX went on to win the next seven rounds to win Ascent with a 13-8 scoreline and qualify for the Playoffs.
