T1's season has hit a rough patch with superstar Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, taking a break from competitive gaming owing to his right arm injury. However, T1 has another challenge to deal with as their current head coach and the Champions of First Worlds, Bae “Bengi’ Seong Woong, is stepping down from the Head Coach position of the team.
Things are looking bleak for T1 as both their star player and head coach, Bengi, played a pivotal role in the team’s success internationally. Earlier, T1 announced their Academy mid-laner, Poby will be replacing Faker. Reports claim that Im “Tom” Jae-Hyeon will be standing in as the head coach for the team.

T1 To Field New Mid Laner & Head Coach For LCK
T1 announced Bengi’s departure from the team ahead of their LCK Summer Split match against Gen.G on 8th July. T1 General Manager, Becker Jung announced the change and also claimed that each and every team member at T1 honored and respected his decision. Bengi led the, then Sk Telecom T1, to three World Championships, which is an exceptional record in the professional world of League of Legends. Jung has also clarified that Tom will be the best replacement for Bengi for the remainder of their LCK Summer Split matches.
While T1 does look shaky with its recent performances against formidable teams like Gen.G, fans still believe that things will get better with time. The Summer Split is a time when the best regional League of Legends teams run the risk of getting eliminated from the race to Worlds. It will be interesting to see how T1’s new team holds its ground against the likes of Gen.G, Dplus KIA, and Nongshim Redforce. Nonetheless, fans have are backing their favorite organization and hope to see Faker make a return soon.
