League of Legends Star 'Faker' To Take A Break From Competing And Streaming

League of Legends sensation, Lee “Faker” Sang-hook, will take a break from competition. According to T1, the Demon King is currently having issues with his right arm. This was perhaps noticeable during his recent matches, where he could not perform to his full potential.

Faker has played a pivotal role in the success of T1 in the esports market. It is an irrefutable fact that he is the face of League of Legends. Replacing him with any other player is going to be a difficult task. T1 Academy’s mid-laner, Yoon “Poby” Sung-won, will be filling in for Faker in the mid-lane for the remainder of League of Legends Championship Korea.

Faker Takes A Step Back From Competition Due To Health Issues

The player's organization released a statement an hour before their DRX match on July 5. According to T1, Faker showed symptoms of pain and discomfort with his right arm and hand for which he underwent a thorough checkup at a hospital. Although the X-Ray and MRI reports showed no major concerns, Faker will take a break from competition to ensure that he recovers as quickly as possible.

Earlier this week, T1 also announced that Faker will not be streaming in July to prevent his health from worsening. Reporter Yoon Min-Seop claims that he has not been in good health since his match against OK Savings Bank Brion. Faker claimed:
 

“Because my arm wasn’t in good shape, my performance was not good since the match against OK Savings Bank Brion. It had a big impact. The treatment process is ongoing, so it is difficult to say exactly.”

Faker will probably be playing his last Worlds this year, before his military service. Faker’s dedication and hard work are irreplaceable and fans hope to see the Demon King competing for one last time before he takes an extended break from pro play after enlisting.
