Highlights

  • NRG Esports will likely field a new roster for the upcoming Valorant season.

  • FNS, S0m and Ardiss are in the list of players who may be leaving the team.

  • Yay might join NRG for the upcoming season of VCT.

One of the biggest Valorant organizations from North America is potentially looking at a roster change after an unexpected exit from Valorant Champions 2023 following their loss against China’s BiliBili Gaming. NRG Esports fields the Optic Gaming core consisting of FNS, Victor, and Crashies with coach Chet Singh. Arguably, OpTic Gaming has lifted the North American Valorant ecosystem to where it is now.

During 2022, Optic won Masters Reykjavik and made it to the Grand Finals of VCT Champions 2022. Following the introduction of the franchising system, OpTic Gaming’s core was bought out by NRG Esports, a renowned organization in North America. While Yay joined Cloud9 and Marved took a temporary break from the game, the OpTic core stuck together, but it seems the results have fallen away from them.

NRG Esports Might Change Their Valorant Roster For The Upcoming Season

According to several reports, NRG Esports is looking to restructure its lineup. During their 2023 season, they qualified for all the international events with their highest placement being Masters Tokyo, where they secured a Top 4 finish. China’s BiliBili Gaming put an end to their Champions run by defeating them two times in a row in Champions 2023 Group Stages. After not winning a single international event, NRG Esports is potentially looking to bring a new IGL, duelist, and controller player to the team.

This implies that FNS, s0m, and Ardiss may be on the lookout for a new home for the upcoming season. Previously, rumors suggested that NRG might sign Aspas as there is a high probability of him leaving LOUD after Champions. Recent stories about FNS moving to Sentinels have surfaced on the internet as well. Known for leading the team to multiple local and international victories, Pujan has been a core aspect of the team's success. With FNS leaving the team, the new IGL will have large shoes to fill. While Victor and Crashies might be retained, speculation suggests the chances of Yay joining the team are a bit higher now.
