After the first-ever VCT Ascension was held in 2023, all three teams from Americas, EMEA, and Pacific League were ready to be promoted to Valorant's International League in 2024. While Bleed Esports and Gentle Mates from Pacific and EMEA are set to play against the league teams, The Guard, who is the winner of VCT Ascension Americas, will not be able to participate in the 2024 VCT League.
In a recent update from Valorant Esports NA, The Guard will only be able to play VCT League 2024 if they meet the deadline of their partnership paperwork.

No Team To Be Promoted To VCT Americas As The Guard Fails To Meet The Deadline For Team Participation Agreement
After a consistent run in VCT 2023 Americas Ascension and defeating Team M80 in the Grand Finals, The Guard were all set to be part of VCT Americas League in the second iteration of VCT International League. After winning VCT Ascension, The Guard was supposed to be the eleventh partnered team for VCT Americas League.
A team must go through legal paperwork and maintain communication with Riot Games to participate in the international league. The Guard was supposed to do the same, but it seems the org has fallen short of Riot's standards. Despite several rounds of communication with Riot Games, the organization failed to meet the deadline to sign the Team Participation Agreement for VCT Americas. As a result, The Guard will not be promoted to VCT Americas.
The Guard has yet to issue any official statement on the matter. With the addition of China to Valorant Champions Tour 2024, the league will feature four regions. No team will be promoted to VCT Americas whereas EMEA and Pacific league will feature eleven teams in the upcoming season.
