The first day of the IQOO India Series LAN finals came to an abrupt end due to technical difficulties. The BGMI event, which is managed by XO Esports saw a delayed start because of alleged WiFi issues and the players did not play a single match. The first day was supposed to host six matches across Vikendi, Sanhok, Erangel and Miramar. Fans had to leave the venue with no BGMI action to be witnessed. The event is expected to get underway tomorrow.

In a conversation with Gossip.gg, Urvesh Bidwe, Esports and Business Lead for Team XSpark said that the day is likely to be called off due to technical difficulties. The day was eventually cancelled and the fans and teams returned without witnessing any action.
In the same conversation, Akhil, PR from Entity Esports said that the players were facing high ping. In the dry run matches that were held during the day, the players were facing 200-300 ping, which is high for even online play, let alone LAN. The audience was shown interviews on repeat as the officials walked off the stage and tried to figure out what would be the next step for the teams and the players.
The matches will resume on Day 2, February 23, 2024. While information about how the schedule will look like, is yet to be announced, it is anticipated that players will play seven or eight matches to compensate for the matches that didn't take place on the first day.
16 teams will be playing in the event. These 16 teams consist of two invited and 14 qualified teams.
Day 2 is expected to continue as per the given schedule and the teams will begin their chase for the trophy and the lion's share of the Rs. 40 lakh prize pool.
