After getting involved in a series of controversies and allegations, Evil Geniuses’ CEO Nicole LaPointe Jameson has stepped down from the organization. This news comes right after Evil Geniuses won Valorant Champions 2023. Evil Geniuses harbored immense criticism from the community in 2023.
Be it launching disappointing merch following their Valorant Champions 2023 or being called out for copying ideas from LEC, Evil Geniuses has seen a downfall this year. Apparently, the CEO was involved in a controversy with their former prodigy LCS player, Danny. Since then fans doubted LaPointe’s leadership.

Evil Geniuses CEO Steps Down
In the latest interview by Digiday, it was revealed that LaPointe would be stepping down from her position in Evil Geniuses. LaPointe feels that the current model of monetization in esports is not a sustainable one and she has now passed on the torch to the next generation of Evil Geniuses. The former EG CEO also stated how she felt her mindset may have been a bit naïve while stepping into the esports industry and again claimed that she has learned a lot from the profession and is confident about her future.
As an organization, Evil Geniuses has achieved a lot throughout the years. From being an All-American team winning LCS to winning Valorant Champions 2023, EG has seen immense growth in the past few years. In the recent Valorant Champions, the team became notoriously famous for trash-talking other teams in the tournament. They were given the name of “villains” in the event.
What fueled the fire to this is Boostio calling out Chinese Valorant, claiming China will never be as good as North America in Valorant. In other ventures, their LoL team has JoJopyun, arguably the best North American mid-laner currently. While other esports are doing great for EG, their CS division continues to falter.
