China Defeats Mongolia To Secure Gold Medal In Asian Games

The Chinese team featured the legendary trio of Wang “Ame” Chunyu, Lu “Somnus” Yao, and Yang “Chalice” Shenyi. The coaching was taken care of by Zhang “LaNm” Zhicheng. On the contrary, the Mongolian team consisted of underdog players from IHC Esports. Earlier in the year, IHC couldn’t make it out of Division II in the professional Dota Pro Circuit under the Southeast Asian division. The Chinese team secured a direct seed to the medal event at the Asian Games by winning the Road to Asian Games prelims for East Asia.

On the other hand, the Mongolian team claimed the playoff spot by taking down Myanmar and Uzbekistan in Group C of the Group Stage. In the quarter-finals, China defeated Thailand with a clean 2-0 scoreline before defeating Malaysia in the semi-finals with a 2-1 scoreline. Mongolia defeated Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan with a 2-1 and 2-0 scoreline respectively to make their place in the Grand Finals.

In the third, decider game for the gold medal, Mongolia was off to a great start. However, as Ame set the pace for Team China, he seemed to create a breakthrough for Team China. Finally, the latter won the Gold medal in 65 minutes and brought glory to their country.
