Jaccob "Yay" Whiteaker, former star of OpTic and Cloud9, has joined the BLEED Esports Valorant roster. Rumors of the 25-year-old's transfer from the Americas to the Pacific region were spreading like wildfire this month, making the high-profile acquisition of Yay come as no surprise. "I wanted a challenge" Yay Comments on BLEED Esports Signing

The addition of a skilled duelist like Yay to the Singapore-based team should be a significant boost for them, especially after Tyler "Juicy" Aeria's departure. The latter's absence is due to his obligation to complete his National Service duties. Yay, will undoubtedly be the biggest taking point for the next VCT Pacific League season.

Jaccob "Yay" Whiteaker has signed a two-year contract with BLEED Esports, but before that, Yay was popularly regarded as the best VALORANT player, winning Masters Reykjavk 2022 with Optic Gaming, and boasting an amazing record throughout the years. Yay also competed under Disguised Toast's Valorant team in Challengers NA.

“I wanted a new challenge. Watching the APAC and China games, their unique Valorant style intrigued me. I wanted to experience it to develop my game. With all the financial drama in N.A, moving to Singapore seemed right,”

Yay is also known as El Diablo in the world of Valorant due to his dominance in Valorant servers. Yay claimed that the unique gaming culture of Asia and China caught his attention, and he wanted to learn more about it firsthand so that he could refine his own game.

APAC is known for being aggressive, players here aren’t afraid to take risks, which is fun to play against because you get some really good training as you always have to be on top of your mechanics.

The current roster of BLEED Esports consists of the following players:

  • Ngô Công 'crazyguy' Anh
  • Nutchapon 'sScary' Matarat
  • Derrick 'Deryeon' Yee
  • Jaccob 'yay' Whiteaker
  • Javier 'Egoist' Chua
