Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 Grand Finals: Day One Recap and Overall Standings

Serving as the first official Krafton BGMI LAN since the unban, the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2023 Grand Finals has begun at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai. With just 16 teams left in the tournament, fans came to the venue in anticipation of an intense set of games on day one. On the first day of the BGIS LAN Finals, the game saw fierce competition as six teams won chicken dinners in six maps, keeping the points table quite open ahead of day two.

 

The first map of the BGMI Series 2023 LAN Finals was slightly delayed due to technical difficulties, but once resolved, the teams went ahead with the matches as planned. At the end of day one, Revenant Esports leads the points table followed by Gods Reign who made it into the top two after closing the day with a chicken dinner.

The day began with the map of Erangel with all sixteen teams ready to fight for a chunk of the massive Rs. 2,00,00,000 prize pool. Team XSpark began their BGIS final run by winning the first map with ten kill points to their name. In the second game, Midwave Esports snatched victory from the hands of GlitchX Reborn to grab an 11-kill chicken dinner in the finals. With the teams entering the third map of Sanhok, the grassy field saw some intense battles as Team Growing Strong stole the victory from TWM Gaming and Revenant Esports. 

 

With only three maps remaining, the teams were halfway through the day. Orange Rock Esports were consistent in their first three maps and upped their game to dominate the lobby by winning the fourth map of Vikendi. Here, Revenant Esports' second-place finish with 12 finishes was critical to their final spot on the table. In the second last map of the day, Revenant Esports looked hungry for their chicken dinner. Revenant decimated their opponents as they went on to win the map of Miramar with 11 finishes. Day one of BGIS Finals ended on a high note with Gods Reign winning the final map of Erangel and taking the second spot on the leaderboard thanks to their 16-kill chicken dinner.

After the end of day one, all the teams had played six matches. Revenant Esports and Gods Reign took the top two spots on the leaderboard with 83 points to their names. With one chicken dinner under their belt, OR Esports (62 points), Team XSpark (52 points), and Midwave Esports (51 points) follow the table toppers in the leaderboard. Despite winning the third map, Team Growing Strong is eighth. 

 

The teams will be back for day two of the BGIS LAN Finals where the table toppers will try to consolidate their spots while the bottom half must try to make a comeback while there is time left. Fans at home can watch the matches live on Krafton's official YouTube channel and Jio Cinema for free.
