Recently, Valorant esports fans and some prominent members of the community have expressed their woes about the tier 2 ecosystem in VCT. Things heated up after Leo Faria, Global Head of Valorant Esports, addressed the Ascension winners as a “guest team,” through Twitter.
Although Faria did not mean it in an offensive way, his tweet might shed some light on the harsh reality of Challenger-level aspirants in the game. Players from The Guard and Moist called out Leo, questioning his statement and things have heated up to quite an extent. Meanwhile, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, the founder of 100 Thieves, expressed his opinion about the entire situation.

Nadeshot Requests The Valorant Community To Be Patient
In his statement, Nadeshot said:
“I just think that everybody just needs to be a little bit more patient. It’s easy for me to say that, sitting with a partnered Valorant team, but I don’t know. It’s a very intricate, complex, structured league… There are just so many layers of relationships, you just can’t expect these things to happen overnight. But, I am sure it’ll get better.”
The 100 Thieves owner has requested that players and professionals involved in the tier 2 ecosystem be a bit more patient with how they approach things. It is undoubtedly an infuriating fact to be called a “guest” after defeating some of the best teams in the region but with the current status quo, he urged players and professionals in the tier 2 scene to keep their cool.
After the entire Twitter drama, Leo Faria expressed his concerns about the tier 2 Valorant scene and promised fans a “slew of changes” which will be implemented next year. While fans await the overhaul and further updates about the lower rungs of the Valorant scene, VCT Champions is just two days away.
