WhatsApp is getting a new feature that will make it easy for users to react to messages. Similar to Facebook and Instagram, the Meta-owned instant messaging service is rolling out a new functionality that allows users to react to messages with the heart emoji by simply double-tapping on it.
While this functionality seems really useful, users will no longer have to long press on a message to react with the heart emoji, if users want to react with the thumbs up or any other emojis, it can only be done using the old method.

When Is The Double-Tap React Feature Coming?
As per a report from WABetaInfo, the double tap to react functionality is currently available to those on WhatsApp for Android 2.24.16.7 beta and will be coming to the stable channel sometime later. However, it looks like there is no option to disable the behavior, and it might end up being frustrating for users who might accidentally react to older messages while going through their chat history.
Currently, there is no word on whether or not the double tap to react feature will be available to all WhatsApp users, so users might have to wait a little longer.
In the past few weeks, WhatsApp has been working on a plethora of new features like the ability to reshare status updates with a dedicated button and a nearby Share such as the functionality that will enable users to share files with one another without requiring an active internet connection to name a few.

WhatsApp Wants To Give Users More Control Over Privacy
User privacy is something that WhatsApp talks about very frequently. In the last few months, the instant messaging app has rolled out several features aimed at upgrading user privacy. These features include not enabling people to take screenshots of profile photos, rolling out passkeys, and allowing users to control who uses their avatar in stickers among others.
Now, the platform is said to be working on a new feature that will allow users to view their security settings quickly. According to a report for WABetaInfo, the Meta-owned company is working on a new security checkup feature in its latest beta update for Android 2.24.15.13, now available on the Google Play Store. This feature aims to help users quickly review and upgrade their security settings, offering an extra layer of protection for their accounts.
The new feature is said to streamline the process of managing account security. Users will be able to access and configure several critical security options from a single screen. The feature will let users set up a passkey, enabling them to secure their accounts by logging into WhatsApp using biometric data or a screen lock.
