If Assassin’s Creed Shadows had stayed on schedule, it would have been launched just within a month. Instead, shadows were pushed back to an early 2025 release. Now, players who buy the Assassin’s Creed Shadows collector’s edition won’t be getting early access to the game.
According to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft confirmed the cancelation of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ early access during a Discord Q&A session. The company also restated that it will not be moving forward with its plans of implementing season passes.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows Collector’s Edition Price Dropped
Consequently, the price of Assassin’s Creed Shadows collector’s edition will be dropped from $280 to $230. The collector’s edition will still come with a steel book, an artbook, a statue, and more. However, there could be additional changes to those products before the final release.
The report indicates that these late changes may "be inspired by the issues Ubisoft has had thus far maintaining historical accuracy and cultural representation." That was one of the reasons behind the delay of the game, in addition to a request from Shadows’ developer Ubisoft Quebec to have more time to polish the game before it launches.
Moreover, there’s been word that Ubisoft Quebec might be adding a co-op mode to Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Presumably, this will enable two players to fight side-by-side as the game’s dual protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. But since the game has been delayed, that feature might not be ready by launch. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available on PC PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 14, 2025.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Arrives on Steam
After a long wait, Ubisoft brought the latest Assassin's Creed mainline installment on Steam this month. Assassin's Creed Mirage is now available through Steam for all PC gamers.
The title was already available to PC users through Ubisoft+, the Ubisoft Store, and the Epic Games Store, however, Steam users had to wait about a year before the game arrived on Valve's platform. Assassin's Creed Mirage comes to Steam with various editions and DLCs that one can enjoy. By living through Basim's story, fans will fill the shoes of a novice assassin in Baghdad.
Released on October 2023, Assassin's Creed Mirage took the franchise to its roots, ditching the RPG elements the series has built since the past few titles including, Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
Initially planned as a DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft decided to make a standalone story on Basim, an antagonist in the previous title. However, Mirage's story serves as an origin to the character, who later finds himself in distant shores with the Vikings, as shown in Valhalla.
