  • Ben Hinchliffe briefly discussed GTA VI, saying he believes the game will “blow people away” and be a smashing success when it comes to sales.

  • Hinchliffe said he’s keen on seeing how the game has evolved since he left in 2022.

  • GTA VI is set to launch in the holiday of 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Game designer Ben Hinchliffe has worked at Rockstar Games for over 10 years, and he contributed to games like Grand Theft Auto V, Read Dear Redemption II, and Grand Theft Auto VI before parting ways with the company in 2022. During a recent interview, Hinchliffe briefly discussed GTA VI, saying he believes the game will “blow people away” and be a smashing success when it comes to sales.

"It will sell an absolute ton, as it always does. People will be talking about it for ages afterward, just like they do with GTA 5," Hinchliffe told GTA VI O'clock. "I think they've raised the bar again. They always do, and they have done again with GTA 6."

Is GTA VI Coming In Holiday 2025

When asked about what he’s most excited about GTA VI, Hinchliffe said he’s keen on seeing how the game has evolved since he left in 2022. He did not give out any information, as it is expected to be a secretive project. Hinchliffe now works at Sniper Elite VR studio Just Add Water.

GTA VI is set to launch in the holiday of 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is set in Vice City, which is a replica of Miami, Florida. The game’s first trailer was released in early December 2023, and to date, Rockstar Gamers has not released any additional footage or official details about the game. GTA VI is coming to market with a big hype and expectation behind it. After all, GTA V has sold over 200 million copies.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Release Date Might Have Been Revealed

It has almost been a year since the first GTA 6 trailer was released by Rockstar Games, shattering the Internet and records in the process. There is still no official word of when the second GTA 6 trailer will be launched, but with the game currently scheduled to release holiday 2025 via PS5 and Xbox Series X, a second trailer is surely on the horizon. Well, the company might launch the second trailer this month.

In a new promotional image for GTA Online, Grand Theft Auto fans noticed something fairly interesting. More specifically, it’s been noticed the promotional image features the moon in the Waning Gibbous phase. While it may sound irrelevant, some GTA fans think it is a subtle and cryptic GTA 6 tease.

If this turns out to be true, it would point to something happening on November 22, which is when the Waning Gibbous phase will occur this month. It goes without saying, this can’t be related to a GTA 6 release date, so perhaps it is the release date for the second GTA 6 trailer. November 22 is a Friday, so it is not out of the possibility zone this is the date.

BioWare’s Dragon Age Trilogy Remaster 'Wouldn’t be Easy'

After a well-received launch for Dragon Age: The Veilguard, there are probably a fair few series newcomers considering delving into the original trilogy. But anyone hoping for a Mass Effect: Legendary Edition type remasters could get disappointed. Dragon Age: The Veilguard creative director John Epler says the project "wouldn't be easy" as hardly anyone left at BioWare knows how the studio’s old engine works.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was received well when it hit the market back in 2021, introducing the likes of improved performance and visuals, enhanced models, new lighting, gameplay tweaks, and more. It was a welcome finessing of a classic trilogy, and the kind of treatment most would probably agree with the developer’s other beloved series deserves.

Dragon Age Trilogy Remaster Could Be Challenging

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Dragon Age: the Veilgraud creative director John Epler - who’s been with the developer since the original title was launched in 2009 - noted that while it would be great to see the trilogy get a remaster, it would be challenging because of the games’ proprietary engines.

Unlike the Mass Effect trilogy, which was developed in Unreal Engine 3, Dragon Age Inquisition was created using EA’s Frostbite engine, while Dragon Age 1 & 2, more problematically, were built using BioWare’s own Eclipse Engine. "I think I'm one of about maybe 20 people left at BioWare who’s used Eclipse," Epler explained. "[Remastering Dragon Age is] something that's not going to be as easy as Mass Effect, but we do love the original games."

But there’s still hope for Dragon Age fans, given Epler has completely shut the door on the idea. "Never say never," he added, "I guess that's what it comes down to."

Will Dragon Age Get Legendary Edition Treatment

EA’s interest in giving Dragon Age the Legendary Edition treatment - and indeed its continuing interest in the series as a whole - will likely hinge on the success of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which was received well when it came out.

BioWare hasn’t released any official figures, but The Veilguard did manage an all-time peak of 89.418 concurrent players on Steam, setting a new record for a single-player EA game.

Regardless of what happens next, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is still a great game to play. "What BioWare has managed to accomplish here, in the face of all the pressure it's faced since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out 10 years ago, is extraordinary,"

Nintendo Switch 2 Launch “Very Unlikely” Before 2025

Highlights

  • Nintendo is now “very unlikely” to launch its highly-anticipated Switch 2 hardware this year, a games industry analyst has noted.

  • The recent financial results from Nintendo revealed a larger-than-expected drop in hardware and software sales for the current Switch.

  • Nintendo’s Switch 2 launch plans have become the subject of a frenzied rumor mill of speculation among fans of Nintendo and the video game industry.

Nintendo is now “very unlikely” to launch its highly-anticipated Switch 2 hardware this year, a games industry analyst has told Eurogamer. The recent financial results from Nintendo revealed a larger-than-expected drop in hardware and software sales for the current Switch, as the console ages and its release calendar quietens.

The results also passed by without even talking about Switch 2 being shown - and perhaps with Nintendo’s new hardware not due to arrive until sometime in 2025 - for good reason.

During an interaction with Eurogamer, industry analyst Serkan Toto, CEO of Japanese game industry consultancy Kantan Games, said any mention of the anticipated Switch 2 now would only further hamper Switch 1 sales during the console’s last holiday season.

Switch 2 Could Hinder Switch 1’s Sales

"Nintendo is unpredictable, but I do believe a reveal before the end of the year is very unlikely," Toto said. "Sales of the current model are cratering, more than Nintendo had already anticipated. They would implode even further if a Switch 2 announcement came before the holidays, so why would they do that? Instead, Nintendo is a lot more likely to wait until early January to show the new device. For 2024, the ship has sailed."

Nintendo’s Switch 2 launch plans have become the subject of a frenzied rumor mill of speculation among fans of Nintendo and the video game industry. Throughout all this, Nintendo has stayed mum, busy launching its final slate of Switch 1 games, opening a museum, and releasing a £99 alarm clock.

Nintendo has noted that it will launch Switch 2 before the end of its current financial year - 30th April 2025. It’s safe to assume that Switch 2 won’t launch before that point, either - even if it was revealed on January 1.

Players Need To Act Drunk To Play This Nintendo Switch Game

Dizzy Hero, a new action game for the Nintendo Switch that needs players to act drunk to activate their superpowers. The game has been garnering a lot of attention on the internet. In the game, players control a character that becomes stronger the more users sway around in real life.

To detect the player’s movements in real life, Dizzy Hero leverages the Joy-Con’s built-in infrared motion camera. As per SoraNews24, who downloaded the game from Nintendo eShop, players have to put down the right Joy-Con with the camera pointing towards them and holding the other one in their hand.

The publication suggested that the gameplay is pretty simple and needs players to “navigate from one door to another on the floor of a building and pick up a folder of dossiers in the process.”
