After a successful time with Valorant, a 5v5 first-person shooter game in India, Riot Games is set to expand its popular team-based strategy game, League of Legends. Riot Games announced the expansion of League of Legends in India, where Riot Games will bring new opportunities for the Indian LoL fanbase. To kick off their latest initiative, Riot Games has partnered with The Esports Club for the inaugural LoL community cup powered by Zotac Gaming.

Riot Games To Host Their First League Of Legends Community Cup In Collaboration With The Esports Club
Riot Games’ initiative to cater to the South Asian LoL player base will feature exciting new opportunities and experiences. Riot Games aims to connect with the South Asian LoL player base, and they plan to do it through content creator collaborations, original localised content, influencer-driven open tournaments, and show matches. Arun Rajappa, Country Manager, Riot Games, India and South Asia, shared his excitement over the new initiative and said:
We're excited to be bringing League of Legends to the forefront in India. This isn't just a game; it's a global phenomenon that's all about passion, competition, and having a blast. We've seen firsthand how much India loves gaming, and we're here to take that love to the next level. As League reaches its fifteenth anniversary, we're committed to empowering Indian gamers with everything they need to become legends in their own right.
Riot Games has also announced the first of many community tournaments in collaboration with The Esports Club. The first season of The Esports Club’s LoL community cup, powered by Zotac Gaming, will start on 11 July 2024, with subsequent seasons to follow till December. Alongside the community cup, The Esports Club will also host Streamer Clash, where the renowned Indian creators will meet in the League of Legends servers and compete against each other.
