Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune are part of the development team on two of the biggest Ubisoft upcoming releases, the free-to-play shooter XDefiant and the VR title Assassin's Creed Nexus. Both titles received a significant showcase at last night's Ubisoft Forward.
Fans cannot wait to see what Ubisoft has in store. The Indian gaming community is excited that 2 Indian studios will be a part of two of Ubisoft's biggest upcoming titles. The publisher has massive plans for the next few years, with XDefiant looking to capture a big chunk of the live-service, free-to-play market with an exciting new offering while Assassin's Creed Nexus takes the VR world by storm.
The publisher's multi-platform approach to games has been one of their strongest suits. With the publisher recently overhauling development on the Assassin's Creed franchise, there is a chance that Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai might get to work on several more mainline AC projects.

Assassin's Creed Nexus - Next Big System Seller?
Assassin's Creed Nexus is the first big VR project within the franchise and it will be available on the Meta Quest 2 and the Meta Quest Pro. It is still unclear whether the game will support Meta Quest 3 which was revealed just a couple of weeks ago. There is a solid chance that Meta Quest 3 will look to bring AC: Nexus to the platform as it has massive system-seller potential.
However, that will likely only be the case if the game is a success. The game is scheduled to come out this Holiday Season (Nov-Dec). The game is essentially a "Greatest Hits" style title for VR and will allow players to step into the shoes of 3 major characters - Ezio, Kassandra, and Connor.
Players will be able to freerun through Venice, Athens, Colonial Boston, and more. The combat systems for the game will include a wide range of weapons, including bows and arrows, the Hidden Blade, Swords, Tomahawks, and a whole lot more.
