The Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting (I&B), Ashwini Vaishnaw has lifted the curtain on a new challenge to boost the creator economy. The Create in India Challenge - Season 1 was announced for World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (Waves) and will have 25 challenges for different niches.
These challenges will cover a wide array of niches, which include animation, gaming, music, filmmaking, and visual arts.

Government Launches Create In India Challenge Season 1 for Waves
The Union Minister emphasises the fact that these 25 competitions are key to understanding the growing and evolving economy India has turned into. This is in line with the Prime Minister's faith in the creator economy and the first-ever national Creators Awards, which took place in March. Talking about the Create In India Challenge, Ashwini Vaishnaw said:
The Government of India is leaving no stone unturned to encourage this economy and therefore, we need to ensure the talent & skill development and availability of necessary infrastructure in this sector. There are plans to establish world-class universities and facilities that will enhance the capabilities of creators in media and entertainment.

BGMI LAN Announced
During the Waves event, the government will also host a BGMI LAN, including international teams. Here is the schedule for the same:
Qualifiers (Online)
- September 1 to 15
- September 18 to October 2
- October 4 to 19
- October 21 to November 4
The grand final of the event will take place from November 20 to 24.
