The first-ever Mobies awards came to an end. Three players and content creators from India were nominated in various categories. However, S8UL Esports would be the one to bring the trophy to India.
Naman 'Mortal' Sandeep Mathur and Jonathan 'Jonathan Gaming' Amaral were nominated for Mobile Content Creator of the Year and Harsh 'Goblin' Paudwal was nominated for Mobile Esports Player of the Year.
S8UL Esports wins Global Impact on mobile gaming award at Mobies 2023
While there were just three nominations from the country, an honorary category was announced, and S8UL Esports took home the title of the Global Impact on Mobile Gaming Award. This was not a pre-announced category and was announced on the spot. Mortal and Thug, who had flown down to the USA to attend the Awards were pleasantly surprised to receive the news of the award. Sid Joshi, an integral part of S8UL Esports was hosting a watch party where he read the message that Thug sent to the group. It reads:
"I don't know how this happened. Mai khana lene jaara tha. Mujhe bola 2 mins baitho." (I don't know how this happened. I was going to get food but they asked me to wait for two minutes)
While S8UL Esports' third owner, Lokesh 'Goldy' Jain couldn't be there, Thug didn't forget to mention him and said he was supposed to get him a gift from the USA, "but this trophy is a bigger gift than anything."
Last year at the Esports Award, S8UL also won the Content Group of the Year, having beaten a few of the most established content creation organisations in the world. During the same awards, Mortal was nominated as the Esports Personality of the Year and came in second.
