Pokimane Leaves Twitch After 10 Years Of Streaming On The Platform

Imane “Pokimane” Anys announced she is leaving Twitch after streaming on the platform for 10 years. Pokimane has announced she will no longer be exclusive with Twitch and will be streaming on other platforms as well. Now, her fans can see her stream on various platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and wherever she likes. On an X (formerly Twitter) post, Pokimane explained: "It's time to say thank you for all the memories and love."

Pokimane Leaves Behind Twitch Exclusivity

Pokimane is not completely letting go of her Twitch contract but is stepping away from the exclusivity clause. Twitch also replied to her post and said that it was an incredible journey and that she will always have a home on Twitch. To show her fans what they can expect from her in the near future, she posted saying: 

let's explore something new together. no strings attached :) first ever youtube stream tomorrow, feb 1st at 12PM PST. see you there

This move has fans excited hoping to see her explore more platforms and variations in the kind of content she will come up with. During one of her podcasts, Pokimane opened up about the contracts that are provided by Twitch for their streamers and said: 

Although these contracts were made in a way that is great for peace of mind and feeling like you have a safety net as long as you stream a certain number of hours, they do put you in this headspace of prioritizing streaming versus how good the content actually is.

Poki has been streaming on Twitch since 2013 and has changed the kind of content she posts on the platform. She started with streaming League of Legends on the platform and eventually moved to streaming other games like Among Us with her fellow creators like Corpse Husband and Ludwig. Since then she has gained over 9.3 million subscribers on the platform. 

With this shift, she could try more varied content on YouTube and other platforms. Lately, she has been doing a lot of lifestyle content and could continue to explore the niche.
