Highlights

  • In a Twitter/X post, 8bit Goldy talked about the time frame that the organizations can take to disburse the prize pool.

  • Further elaborating on the situation, he said that he is not taking any names or pointing to a specific TO right now.

  • He also talked about transparency and accountability as the pillars of Esports and asked the players not to participate in the tournament organizers' events if the prize pool is not given on time.

Without taking any names, Lokesh 'Goldy' Jain, co-owner of 8bit and S8UL, has raised concerns regarding tournament organisers who have not paid the respective winners the prize they deserve. In a series of posts and replies on X (formerly Twitter), he raised the point that tournament organisers should not be taking a lot of time to give the deserving players the prize they are owed, and to stop blaming the sponsors for delaying the prize pool distribution.

8bit Goldy Calls Out Tournament Organisers

In the post, he talked about the time frame that the organizations can take to send prize money and how participating organizations are informed about the update. He also talked about transparency and accountability as the pillars of esports and asked the players not to participate in the tournament organizers' events if the prize pool is not given on time:

"Disappointing to see a few TOs blaming sponsors for delayed prize pools. Teams compete for fair rewards, not excuses. Even after 6-7 months and some more than a year . Transparency and accountability are crucial for the growth of esports. If we don’t receive the prize pools even after so long we will no more participate in those tournaments organised by such TOs."

Further elaborating on the situation, he said that he is not taking any names right now and will call them out when he feels the time is right. For now, he has not revealed any names or if the issue pertains to BGMI esports exclusively, but has put out a word of caution:

"Next time it will be a direct call out by names! I see some of them too active spreading a lot of gyaan on various platforms! Pehle ghar sahi karo fir aakar esports sudharne ka gyaan do!"

Responding to a comment, 8bit Goldy asked fans to not think about who the organizer is but said that he had to put out these tweets because some of these people have been taking more than a year to give the prize money. Who he might be talking about in the post is unclear right now, but it might get revealed if the concerned tournament organizer doesn't take the required action.
