Helldivers 2 is one of the biggest hits of early 2024, with Arrowhead delivering a successful and strong live-service experience as gamers fight in an intergalactic war against bugs and robots. The game is undoubtedly an intense and violent experience as one takes charge of powerful weapons and armor which can even 'split-lighting' through barrels.

Switching to First-Person Mode in Helldivers 2 on PC and Consoles

To switch to first-person Mode in Helldivers 2, gamers can follow these simple steps. While the controls differ for both PCs and consoles, it is not a complicated method for one to follow. PC Gamers can simply press the middle-mouse button to switch to first-person mode in Helldivers 2. Gamers can also change the combat controls from settings, and switch the key from the middle-mouse button to their key of preference. Once done, gamers can simply use the key during combat to switch their weapon to first-person mode to aim. 

Switching to First-Person Mode in Helldivers 2 on Consoles

PlayStation 5 gamers who wish to fight bugs and robots using first-person mode, can simply press the right stick or R3 on their controller. Functioning the same as a PC keyboard, one will enter the iron sights and scopes of weapons in Helldivers 2. Much like a PC, one can also change their controls to a more comfortable key if they desire to. However, the default keybinds for both PC and console are much more accessible, and easier to switch perspectives.

Is Switching to First-Person Mode a Good Idea in Helldivers 2?

The first-person mode comes with its own set of advantages in Helldivers 2. It is a great way of fighting ranged enemies and it suits specific weapons that complement ranged combat. One can also use more precision while targeting using the first-person perspective. Weapons like the Railgun are also easier to use in the first-person mode, as one can see the charging gauge clearly. 

The first-person mode also comes with a few downsides. Close-quarter combat is extremely difficult with this perspective, as swarming enemies are hard to aim at. That said, gamers can still utilize this perspective by hitting weak enemy points.
