Argentina's Football Stars, Sergio Aguero And Lionel Messi, Join Hands As Co-owners Of KRU Esports

Sergio Aguero, the former Argentine football player, started his journey in esports during the covid lockdown period. Due to the lockdown, he couldn't play football professionally and decided to enter the world of gaming. Sergio was introduced to the popular streaming platform Twitch by his brother and son, from where Sergio's streaming career began. After understanding the gaming and esports ecosystem, Sergio decided to compete with his organisation, and from there, KRU Esports was born.

During an interview with Esports Insider, Sergio talks about his goals and vision with regards to KRU, where he says:

We want to banish the negative misconceptions around video games and esports and be a bridge between regions too. We've a strong presence in Latin America but we're always open to the wider world, where the biggest competitions take place. We will help our team to develop: players, coaches, analysts, managers, and streamers. We will give them the tools to develop themselves to show the world their potential. We do this step-by-step. We'll start with FIFA, and then we will expand into other esports titles.

While introducing Lionel Messi as the co-owner of KRU Esports, Sergio talks about how he started the organisation with a vision and entered the football field of FIFA. Over the years, KRU expanded themselves across several titles like FIFA, Rocket League, League of Legends, Valorant, and Valorant Game Changers, and is currently an official Valorant-partnered team. The addition of the popular football and his ex-teammate, Lionel Messi, will uplift the organisation's reputation and value. Lionel Messi won the FIFA World Cup 2022 and eight Ballon d'Or, the highly acclaimed football award.
