There were some thrilling matches and unexpected upsets on the fourth day of the VCT Ascension Pacific. The three matches that took place on July 1, 2023, were:
- XERXIA Esports vs. NAOS
- SCARZ vs. BLEED Esports
- Dplus Esports vs. Orangutan
VCT Ascension Pacific Day 3 Match Summary
XERXIA was pushed to its limit by NAOS in match 1. Although NAOS won the opening map of Bind with a score of 13-9, XERXIA maintained their composure and won Lotus with a score of 13-11, forcing NAOS to a third map. With a convincing victory on the third map, Ascent, XERXIA ended the series with a 13-8 score. With this victory, XERXIA now leads Group Alpha and appears to have a good chance of moving forward.
BLEED vs. SCARZ was an emotional roller coaster with both teams putting up stellar performances. With a 13-5 victory on the first map, BLEED put on a dominant Fracture. Despite being crushed in map 1, SCARZ fought back and forced BLEED to a third map. SCARZ eventually prevailed by the skin of their teeth with a 14-12 scoreline in overtime on Pearl. Rounding out the series, BLEED flipped the script and triumphed 14-12 in overtime on the third map of Lotus. BLEED's critical victory places them at the top of Group Omega.
Indian esports organization, Orangutan, desperately needed a win as they had lost all their previous matches. DPLUS was chasing the win to shut down Orangutan and possibly eliminate them from the competition altogether. DPLUS won the first map, Bind, with a score of 13-4, demonstrating that they still have deep strat book. Orangutan fought back and won the second map, Haven, with a score of 13-9. The third map, Ascent, was dominated by DPLUS, who outplayed Orangutan, finishing the series 13-5.
2023 VCT Ascension Pacific will resume on July 2 and will have three matches:
- ONE Team Esports vs Fancy United Esports
- NAOS vs BOOM Esports
- Dplus Esports vs BLEED Esports
