The 23rd Valorant agent, known as Deadlock, was unveiled at the Valorant Masters: Tokyo by Riot Games. Deadlock is a Norwegian Sentinel agent and all of her abilities are intended to slow down or trap enemies on the battlefield. Based on first impressions, her efficacy when she is on the offence might be suboptimal. Riot revealed that they drew inspiration from the League of Legends Champion, 'Blitzcrank' while designing 'Deadlock.'

Valorant Deadlock Abilities Explained
Her C ability GravNet, captures opponents in a huge net. Enemies will be trapped inside the net when it lands on the ground, making them crouch and move slowly. A trapped opponent must escape the net's area of effect or they must hold the action button to release the net from around themselves, leaving them open to fire.
Her Q ability is Sonic Sensor, a little tag that attaches to a surface and listens for any nearby adversaries making noise. Any opponents caught in its line of fire will be concussed if it detects weapon fire, footsteps, or simply a lot of noise in the area.
Up next is her E ability, Barrier Mesh, which is possibly the most intriguing part of her kit. When the Barrier Mesh disc is thrown on the ground, four X-shaped barriers appear that block attackers from passing through them. It is not hard cover like Astra's ultimate because bullets can still pass through, but it can totally block an enemy's path as they advance. Players can eliminate each of these barriers one at a time by shooting the wall's corners, or shooting the middle disc to take all walls down.
Deadlock's ultimate ability is called Annihilation. Deadlock's ultimate can bounce off surfaces and if impacts an adversary, it will trap them inside what is essentially a large cocoon. The opponent is then physically dragged along the route taken by the ability, and if they reach the end while still cocooned, they will die. However, the cocoon can be shot by their teammates, saving their life. In a 1v1, getting hit by this ability essentially guarantees death.
When is the new Valorant Agent 'Deadlock' coming out?
Deadlock will debut on June 27 as part of Episode 7 Act 1. She will share the stage with the new Team Deathmatch game mode and the new battle pass which features some new skins. As one of Valorant's more peculiar kits, Deadlock appears to have a very specific, defensive play style. However, the same things were said about Sage, before players gave rise to the Battle Sage.
