Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024 - Cup #1 Regular Season: Day 9 Recap

The Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024 saga continues as day nine of the VCL South Asia 2024 Cup #1 Regular Season comes to an end. The ninth day of the regular season witnessed a dominant True Rippers going up against Reckoning Esports, followed by Revenant Esports' comeback against Carnival Gaming to win their fourth game of the season. 

 

True Rippers finally got into their groove as they won against the impactful Reckoning Esports with a 2-0 scoreline. While Carnival Gaming was looking for their first victory of the season, their 2-1 defeat against Revenant Esports will continue their drought of victories this season. Here's a recap of the ninth day of Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024: Cup #1 Regular Season.

Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024: True Rippers Defeats Reckoning Esports on Day 9

 

 

The first best-of-three series between True Rippers and Reckoning Esports started on Reckoning's pick of Icebox. While Reckoning took an early lead, True Rippers didn't allow their opponents to extend it and slowly overtook Reckoning to secure a 7-5 lead in the first half. True Rippers didn't allow Reckoning to hold their defence, helping them lock rounds in their name and winning the map of Icebox with a 13-8 scoreline. 

 

 

On True Ripper's map pick of Lotus, Reckoning Esports wanted revenge for their previous defeat. Reckoning Esports once again had a strong start, but True Rippers managed to equalize the scoreline by the end of the first half. In the second half, both teams were nullifying each other's moves, resulting in overtime. True Rippers managed to pull the game in their favour by the end of the second overtime and won with a 15-13 scoreline. 

 

For the second game of the day, the undefeated Revenant Esports went against Carnival Gaming, who were still looking for their first victory. The series started on Icebox with Carnival Gaming firmly in the driver's seat to lock an 8-4 lead in their favour. Revenant Esports looked adamant about winning the game, but thanks to Carnival's lead in the first half, Carnival won the map with a 13-11 scoreline. 

 

 

If the first map was about Carnival Gaming showcasing their aggressive side, the second map of Ascent was Revenant Esports making a statement about why they are undefeated. Revenant Esports went 10-2 in the first half, and Carnival Gaming looked helpless in front of them. Within a few rounds in the second half, Revenant Esports locked the map in their favour. 

 

 

Despite teams landing on a new map for the decider game, the results remained in Revenant's favour. Carnival Gaming took the initial rounds, but Revenant Esports' domination continued, resulting in an 8-4 first half. Revenant Esports won the game with a 13-5 scoreline, with the Indian Valorant prodigy, SK Rossi, standing out as the MVP of the series with his 63 frags.
