Omen Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024 has kicked off on a high note for Indian fans as they got to witness some intense Valorant action on the first day of Cup #1 Regular Season. On day one, the newly formed Medal Esports went against the roster of True Rippers, followed by another breathtaking matchup between Carnival Gaming and Orangutan Gaming.

 

While everyone thought that True Rippers would dominate the match with their experience, Medal Esports proved everyone wrong by winning the series with a 2-0 scoreline. The second game of the day between Carnival Gaming and Orangutan Gaming went till the final map where Orangutan secured their first victory of the regular season. Let's look at how Medal Esports and Orangutan Gaming pulled off their first victory of the season.

Medal Esports And Orangutan Gaming Grab Their First Victory Of VCL South Asia 2024 Regular Season

 

 

The day started with the best-of-three series between Medal Esports and True Rippers on Medal's map pick of Sunset, with True Rippers starting on the defensive side. The first half of the map was a balanced one, with both teams trying to nullify their opponent's lead, resulting in a 6-6 scoreline by the end of the first half. As the teams entered the second half, True Rippers couldn't find a single way to penetrate Medal's defense, helping them secure a 13-9 victory in the first game. 

 

 

The second map was a lot closer and more intense as Medal Esports made an incredible comeback. True Rippers had an explosive start on their map pick of Icebox as the team went on a seven-round winning streak in the first half, helping them get in the driver's seat with a 9-3 lead. When it seemed that True Rippers would easily win the game, Medal Esports activated the 9-3 curse to equalize the scoreline and push the game into overtime. Medal Esports won the final two rounds in overtime to win the map with a 14-12 scoreline and the series with a clean 2-0 score. 

 

 

For the second match of the day, Carnival Gaming picked the map of Bind for the first game of the series against Orangutan Gaming. Orangutan Gaming overpowered Carnival as they went 10-2 in the first half. trinxty from Orangutan didn't waste any time closing the map in Orangutan's favour with the 13-5 scoreline. 

 

In the second game of the series, the teams landed on OG's pick of Sunset, and they took turns with winning streaks. Carnival Gaming had to win the game to push the series to a third map. They started slow but caught momentum as they secured their lead in the first half. Carnival Gaming got themselves in control of the game as they finished the map of Sunset by winning six back-to-back rounds and won the map with a 13-7 scoreline.

 

 

Orangutan Gaming was in no mood to lose on the decider map of Ascent as they started the game by winning seven back-to-back rounds, helping them get to an 8-4 lead in the first half. Despite Carnival's efforts, they failed to consolidate their victory from the second game, resulting in OG winning the map with a 13-7 scoreline and winning the first series of the Valorant Challengers South Asia 2024 regular season.
