TEC Challenger Series 2023 - VCT Off-Season: All You Need To Know

The Esports Club has announced their latest tournament called TEC Challenger Series 2023 for the VCT Off-Season. The event is for the entire South Asian region and will start on 28th September, 2023, and go on till October 12th, 2023. The prize pool for the entire event is a whopping 15 lakh INR. Eight esteemed Valorant teams will be invited to the group stage while four teams will earn their spots from the qualifiers.

TEC Challenger Series: Format and Schedule

 

The online qualifiers for the event will commence on 28 September and end on 1 October. The format for these matches will be single-elimination. The group stages will run from 4th October to 8th October where the eight invited teams will face the four teams from the online qualifying phase. As of now, the eight invited teams are yet to be revealed. 

 

The group stages will take place in a round-robin format, pitting them against each other for one instance each. The Top 4 teams from the group stages will qualify for the playoffs, where the matches will take place in double-elimination brackets, enabling the teams to pursue a lower bracket run even if they lose a match. 

 

The event has an enormous prize pool of 15 lakh INR where the winner will be taking home a whopping 7 lakh INR prize while second place will get to bag 5 lakh INR. The third-place team will take home 2 lakh INR while fourth position will take home 1 lakh INR.

 

The Indian Gaming Community is at the edge of its seats waiting for a Valorant tournament like this, especially during the off-season. Since the event is entirely online, players from other countries will be able to participate in the event, expanding the competition from within the nation to the whole of South Asia.
