Orangutan Gaming Returns to Free Fire Esports with Their Old Roster

After the game was banned, many organizations decided to disband their roster. However, Orangutan Gaming backed their Free Fire players and supported them much like their BGMI roster. With the game's return, Orangutan Gaming didn't wait a second to announce their roster. The Orangutan Gaming's four-man lineup for Free Fire India is led by Pahadi and is as follows:

  • Naitik "Oldmonk" Khostho
  • Ajay "Jonty" Banga
  • Lokesh "Pahadi" Karakoti
  • Jayesh "Mr.Jay" Yadav

Before the game was banned, Orangutan Gaming was consistent with its lineup across several tournaments. In their last event, Esportz Premier Series 2022, they decimated the server and won the entire thing.

With the re-release of Free Fire, Indian esports could see a new wave of growth, and Garena might be announcing their upcoming tournament in India soon. Here is what Mr. Lokesh Suji, Director, Esports Federation of India and Vice President of the Asian Esports Federation (AESF), said about the return of Free Fire in India:

The re-entry of FreeFire brings immense promise for players across the nation, amplifying the competitive spirit and paving the way for recognition and opportunities on a global scale. Marking a pivotal step forward in the growth of competitive gaming, ESFI supports such endeavors which will guide the industry towards unparalleled growth and excellence.

He also spoke about the potential of the game's growth in the nation:

We anticipate a ripple effect that will encourage the inception of more high-profile tournaments and events. This move ignites the momentum needed to realize our collective vision of a vibrant and thriving esports landscape in India. India will now witness the continued growth of Esports prize pools and userbase with FreeFire India leveraging it further to invigorate our Esports landscape.

With tournament announcements waiting in the wings, fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
