Earlier this week, Marcos Gaming shut down its entire BGMI division, releasing the team and coaching staff. However, fans of the organization can look forward to their appearance at Skyesports Masters. Marcos Gaming became the fifth team to join India's first-ever franchise-based CS:GO league and the brand new lineup has been fully revealed. While revealing the CS: GO roster, Marcos Gaming also mentioned that they partnered with AMD to strengthen their preparations into CS:GO. They will compete against seven other franchised teams in Skyesports Masters for a chunk of the massive 2 crore INR prize pool.
When asked about the future of Marcos Gaming with Skyesports, Sudhir Kumar, CEO and founder of Marcos stated:
"I am thrilled to be entering India's first franchised esports league. We believe in the vision of Shiva and Skyesports which was one of our primary motivations to enter the league. The franchise model is important in esports as it brings structure to the industry with a fixed set of deliverables, allowing us to close brand deals easier. There is still work to be done for reviving Counter-Strike in India, and we are here for the long run with the Skyesports Masters and are looking forward to growing this promising title."
Skyesports is expected to reveal the final two teams for its Skyesports Masters series soon. With this, Marcos Gaming has essentially rebranded itself with CS:GO at the forefront of their operations.
