Krafton Announces BGMI Invitational Featuring PUBG Mobile and BGMI Teams

BGMI has completed its three-month trial after getting unbanned in the country and a host of events and tournaments have taken place since. An array of third-party events was followed by a large official event called BGIS (Battlegrounds Mobile India Series). The series is still underway and the several-month-long lead-up to the finale will filter the top teams in the nation. Now, to mark the end of the trial period, Krafton is looking to host a friendly tournament between India and Korea. Both nations are known to be gaming giants with immense talent in the BGMI and PUBG Mobile pool.

While more details about the event are yet to be revealed, the Invitational is likely to take place between October and December 2023. It is also likely that the event will take place in India because BGMI doesn't have global matchmaking, making the BGMI teams the home teams. The Korean teams will most likely fly to India to compete in the event in a LAN setting.

BGIS is currently in the first round and the top 2048 teams from the country are competing to become a part of the LAN event, which is scheduled to take place in Mumbai. After round 1, a lot of teams will be filtered out till the top 32 remain. These top 32 teams will meet the lower bracket teams from BGIS The Grind, an event that took place earlier in August.
