India Emerges Victorious Against Pakistan In CS: GO Showdown of Skyesports Souvenir

The storied rivalry between Pakistan and India has finally taken place in esports too, as Team WahWah from Pakistan and Team Gods Reign faced each other in the qualifying stage of Skyesports Souvenir CS: GO. Team India managed to emerge victorious over Team Pakistan in a best-of-three match, taking the win in a clean sweep. The matches were nail-bitingly close as both the teams fought hard till the last round.

India vs Pakistan Match Recap Skyesports Souvenir

 

 

Team India and Team Pakistan faced each other in the round-robin qualifier of Skyesports Souvenir on 27 September, 2023. India has had a flawless run so far in the tournament with a 2-0 win against Sri Lanka and a 2-1 win against Nepal while Pakistan lost their first match against the United Arab Emirates but won against Sri Lanka. The match between India and Pakistan was storied, owing to the nations' years-old rivalry in sports. The team lineups looked like this:

The maps for the best of three match were Mirage, picked by Pakistan, Ancient, picked by India, and the decider map was Anubis. Mirage was won by India, despite being the map pick of the opposition. Clinching the win in overtime with a score line of 19-16, reV3nnnn from Gods Reign dropped 33 frags, winning the match MVP award. 

 

Ancient was another close affair but India emerged victorious as they closed out the map at 16-14 with reV3nnnn once again fragging it out for his team, winning the MVP at 32 kills once more.

 

 

With this win, India managed to continue their flawless run in the tournament and will meet the United Arab Emirates (UAE), another team with a flawless run, on 28 September 2023 in the qualifiers. UAE currently leads the charts, followed by India. Essentially, this match will be for the lead. Pakistan has been pushed down to fourth position. The top two teams from the points table will be facing each other in the finals of Skyesports Souvenir CS: GO.
