Global Esports Games 2023: eFootball Player Hemanth Kommu To Lead India’s Charge

India's eFootball star, Hemanth Kommu will be representing India at the Global Esports Games 2023 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Kommu qualified from the Asian qualifiers and will be looking to start his campaign against Uruguay at the Global Esports Games 2023. Kommu, who mostly goes by the moniker peshemak7 in the game, is placed in Group D which has many worthy opponents from Brazil, Iran, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Uruguay.

eFootball Player Hemanth Kommu To Start Campaign Against Uruguay

 

 

Hemanth Kommu will begin his eFootball campaign against Uruguay and all the group stage games will take place on December 13 as a round-robin, best-of-three format and the 28 players will compete in four groups of seven. After Stage 1, the players who couldn't make it through will get one last chance to find a place for themselves in the finals. The format will be a single elimination, best-of-three. 

 

Talking about how he will tackle the Group Stage, Hemant Kommu said: 

 

I am excited to take on some of the leading eFootball athletes of the world once again. The competition going to be intense, but I am ready to give it my all. My game plan will revolve around being smart and adaptable but most importantly keeping my cool under pressure. Since every opponent has their own style of gameplay, I have formulated multiple tactics and strategies based on how things go. I want to extend my gratitude to ESFI for backing me and I will do my best to make India proud by hopefully securing a medal.

 

The Asian qualifiers was a huge competition between Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka and Kommu was able to secure a place for himself. The qualifiers were organised by the Esports Federation of India. Talking about Kommu's feat, Lokesh Suji, Director of the Esports Federation of India (ESFI) and Vice-President of the Asian Esports Federation said:
